Fish shaped surfboards were tested and developed at Sunset Cliffs in San Diego as far back as the mid-60's.
Looking for a board to surf well in the small, sloppy surf of summer, Point Loma surfers found that a modified knee board worked well. Today there has been a resurgence in fish designs. From twin fins to quads. From wide tails to small swallow tails. From a continuous rail to single and double wings, the evolution of the fish still continues today.
THE FISH CLASSIC is our starting point for our scholl of fish.
Wide forward point. Thick and boxier rails. Full volume through out. This board has excellent float and is easy to paddle. The extra wide tail helps get into small, mushy waves. We use hand made wooden glass on twins. ANd a hand glassed leash loop finishes off the retro look.
This board likes to run small. 5'2 to 6'6" are common sizes.
Always glassed with 6oz bottom and 2X 6oz deck. Always glossed and polished and looks great with a classic earth tone tints and pigments.
